Abstract

In recent decades, we have witnessed a significant increase in the attention we give to the role of social movements. The trend toward globalization has helped propel the importance of non-state actors in many domains, from ecological protection, human rights, and gender issues to anti-xenophobia. Yet, despite all this attention, scholars working on social movements have seldom recognized the educational component of their subject. Therefore, any efforts to illuminate both the learning processes they undergo and the educational services they provide are highly welcomed, as are the books under review here.
